Bytes Mobility capability statement

What we do, the standards and systems we work with, and the work we've done, on one page to share with your team or attach to a bid.

What we do

Commercial and digital review. We review the systems behind your service, from ticket sales and booking to real-time information, timetable data and operations tools. We find where they cost you money or hold you back, and you get a costed, phased plan.

Systems integration. We connect booking, payment, journey planning, real-time and operations systems from different suppliers, and the data between them.

Transit data. We create, convert, check and publish timetable and real-time data: GTFS and GTFS-Realtime first, plus NeTEx and SIRI.

Passenger and staff interfaces. Booking flows, trip planners, live maps, websites and operations tools.

Transport maps and analysis. We analyse your data, such as ticket sales, ridership and journey times, against your network and the areas it serves, and give you maps, dashboards and clear findings.

Agent access. We make timetables, availability, booking and payment usable by AI agents, through MCP, A2A and the agent payment protocols.

Support and running. We host, monitor, fix and improve what we build, and take over systems someone else built.

Data standards

GTFS, GTFS-Realtime, NeTEx, SIRI, NaPTAN

Systems we've connected

Booking and payments. OpenMove, National Express, Mercurio, FreedomPay

Maps and journeys. Google Maps, Mapbox, MapTiler, Geoapify, CycleStreets, OpenTripPlanner, HAFAS

Live data. OMNIplus, OneBusAway, Trapeze, Bus Open Data Service, TfL Unified API

Standards and compliance

Accessibility. We aim for WCAG 2.2 AA on new work and test against it. That is the level UK public sector websites are checked against. It also covers WCAG 2.1 AA, the level the ADA Title II rule sets for US public bodies' websites and apps, and the WCAG 2.0 AA web standard in Section 508.

Card payments. Card details go into the payment provider's own hosted fields, so they never reach your servers or ours. That keeps your PCI DSS scope small. The providers we connect, such as FreedomPay, support EMV contactless and EMV 3-D Secure.

US federal reporting. Transit agencies that report to the FTA's National Transit Database must publish a GTFS feed for their fixed-route services. We create, check and host those feeds and keep them current. We can also map who your routes serve, area by area, for a Title VI service equity analysis.

How we look after your data. We aren't certified to ISO 27001 yet. We follow its controls where they apply to a team our size, and we agree how personal data is handled under UK and EU GDPR at the start of each project.

Work

Airport Bus Express. The booking storefront and payments for airport coach transfers in London, Milan and Dublin. We built it and we still run it.

Embark trip planner. Updates to the trip planner that Embark, the transit agency for Oklahoma City, gives its riders. We worked as Mecatran's subcontractor, in the trip planner's codebase and through its release pipeline.

Transit Print. Upload a GTFS feed and publish printable PDF timetables for each route and each stop, in your own colours. Free by invite.

Who we've worked with

Airport Bus Express, National Express, Autostradale, San Diego MTS, GoTriangle, Tactran, Mecatran, Embark

Working with vendors and consultancies

A fixed scope and cost. Each phase has its own scope and cost, agreed before it starts. We can line the phases up with your programme's milestones.

Capacity by the day. For a few weeks or months of a bigger programme, we work on a day rate. We give you the rate when we scope the work.

How we contract. Directly as your subcontractor, or under a teaming agreement while you bid.

Frameworks. We aren't on any public framework yet. When your contract comes through one, we work as your subcontractor under it.

Who you'd work with. A small team based in London. We share names, CVs and references when we're scoping a project with you.
